Three steps.
Add your holdings
Search 150k+ tickers and add what you own — shares and buy price, or just target weights if you're still planning.
Log buys, sells & deposits
Every purchase becomes a lot with its own date and cost basis. Monthly contributions can log themselves automatically.
Read honest performance
True time-weighted return, realized and unrealized P&L, dividend income, and the S&P 500 benchmark — updated with live market data.
Built like a ledger.
Buy the same stock five times and most trackers blur it into one average. PortfolioCalc keeps every lot — its date, its price, its own P&L — so your numbers survive a sale.
- Multi-lot cost basis — each buy tracked separately.
- Realized vs unrealized P&L — split correctly when you sell.
- Full transaction history — buys, sells, deposits, dividends.
The honest number: time-weighted return.
Add $500 a month and a naive tracker says you're a genius — your deposits inflate the return. TWR is the metric fund managers must report, and your tracker should too.
- Time-weighted return — deposits don't distort your skill.
- S&P 500 benchmark — the same money, indexed, on every chart.
- Daily snapshots — your value history builds itself.
Every payout, counted.
Real payout data per holding — reinvested into your position or tracked as cash income, your choice per ticker. Plus a calendar of what's landing next.
- DRIP or cash income — set per holding, applied with real payout data.
- Dividend calendar — what's paying, when, and how much.
- Income tracking — YTD and projected annual income.
Tracking that runs itself.
The reason spreadsheets die is maintenance. Set your plan once — contributions log themselves, prices update live, and your value history accumulates in the background.
- Automatic contributions — logged on schedule, split by your targets.
- Rebalancing drift — see how far you've wandered from plan.
- PDF reports & share links — for your advisor, partner, or future self.
Portfolio tracking, answered.
Is the portfolio tracker free?
Yes. The free tier includes 2 portfolios with 5 holdings each, live prices, full transaction tracking and projections — forever, no card required. Pro ($15/month) raises the limits to 10 portfolios and 100 holdings and adds the full analytics suite, dividend calendar, AI tools, crash simulation and PDF/CSV export.
Do I need to connect my broker account?
No. You add holdings manually — it takes about two minutes — and prices update automatically from then on. Your broker credentials never touch PortfolioCalc, which is exactly how we like it.
What can I track?
Over 150,000 stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies across global markets, with 50+ years of real price history behind the analytics. Multiple portfolios let you separate accounts, strategies, or family members.
What is time-weighted return, and why does it matter?
Time-weighted return (TWR) measures how your investments performed independent of when you added or withdrew money. A simple return looks better every time you deposit — TWR removes that distortion, which is why it's the standard fund managers are required to report.
How are dividends handled?
Each holding can reinvest dividends (DRIP) or count them as cash income — your choice, applied with real payout data per ticker. A dividend calendar shows upcoming payments, and your YTD income is always visible.
Can I export or share my portfolio?
Yes — generate a PDF report or create a shareable link. Transaction export to CSV is on the roadmap.
